The Tullamore Sewerage Scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2007-2009 as a scheme to start construction in 2009 at an estimated cost of €43.2 million. Offaly County Council's contract documents for the upgrading of the wastewater treatment plant and the construction of a new sludge treatment centre are being examined in my Department and are being dealt with as quickly as possible. Contract documents for the upgrading of the wastewater collection system are awaited from the Council.
