Question 405: To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his Department receives a daily summary of stories relevant to his Department from Government Information Services; if this summary is in written, verbal or electronic format; if these are furnished to a departmental press officer or press adviser; and if the press officer or adviser furnishes this information to him every day or how often it is furnished. My Department does not receive a daily summary of stories specifically relevant to its work from Government Information Services. Government Information Services do however provide a short summary form of the main stories in the major media outlets. This is provided in electronic form to Ministers, senior members of the Department and the staff of the press office. These summaries are issued in the morning, and after the main lunchtime, evening and nightly news bulletins.
