Question 385: To ask the Minister for Transport if prior to his recent decision in respect of provisional licence holders, he sought or received information from any source regarding the degree to which holders of provisional licences were involved in fatal or non-fatal accidents in each of the past five years; the number of such provisional licence holders in each year; the number of full licence holders in the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The answer to the first part of the question is "No". As regards the second and third parts of the question, information of this kind can be obtained directly from the Road Safety Authority.
