My Department recognises the critical importance of maintaining continuous focus on driving both efficiency and effectiveness from its expenditure. Ongoing initiatives include: 1. Value for Money Reviews (VFM); under the current round of VFM reviews my Department has carried out or is the process of conducting reviews in respect to the following areas:

Title of ReviewCurrent Stage of Review
Asylum/Immigration ReviewCompleted
Probation and Welfare Service — Review of Community Services SchemeIn Progress
Probation and Welfare Service — Assistance to Voluntary Bodies ReviewIn Progress

2. Additionally, the Departmental procurement function has been placed at the centre of the organisation. Central to its remit is to identify and exploit cost efficiencies through a collaborative approach to aggregation while seeking to minimise costs to the organisation.
