The Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 to 2001 set out clearly the obligations of special advisers and in particular the requirement to furnish a Statement of Interests to the Standards in Public Office Commission. The next Statement is due to be submitted by 31 January 2008. Under the Ethics Acts, Statements relating to the Interests of Advisers are laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas.
