Question 130: To ask the Taoiseach the steps that have been taken to implement the Sullivan Report which was commissioned after the A Case controversy in 2006; if a report on risk assessment in the Attorney General's Office has been published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In reply to Parliamentary Questions 1 to 8 on 1 November, 2006, I stated that substantial progress had been made in implementing the recommendations of the Sullivan Report. Progress continues to be made and includes a review of risk management procedures for sensitive cases, periodic reports to Government on sensitive and constitutional cases and secondment of a number of Advisory Counsel to Government Departments.
Recommendations in the initial report of the Risk Management Group — appointed in June 2006 by the Attorney General — are being implemented as appropriate. As it is an initial report, it is not intended to publish it.
I will address the matter of a statement in response to similar questions due for oral reply shortly.
