Question 129: To ask the Taoiseach the amount of EU funding received by his Department for programmes administered by his Department or by agencies under the remit of his Department in each year of the past ten years; if he will detail the specific programmes in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. During the past ten years, EU funding was received by my Department in 2006, 1998 and 1997. Details of the amounts received are listed as follows:

EU Funding received in 2006

The sum of €47,604 was received in relation to the eGovernment Project.

EU Funding received in 1998

The sum of IR£42,000 (€53,359) was received in relation to projects carried out under the "Communicating Europe" Initiative.

The Sum of IR£8,203 (€10,416) was received in respect of a Famine Publication which was a Commemoration initiative.

The sum of IR£7,500 (€9,523) was received from the European Regional Development Fund in relation to a commemoration initiative concert held in Australia in 1997.

EU Funding received in 1997

The amount of IR£947,340 (€1,202,874) was received from the European Social Fund in relation to Local Development and Urban Initiatives in 1996 and 1997.

The sum of IR£70,000 (€88,882) was received in respect of The Communicating Europe Initiative.

The sum of IR£16,000 (€20,316) was received in relation to costs associated with a Famine Publication.
