The application referred to by the Deputy was received in the Visa Office, Moscow on 9 July 2007. It was refused by the Visa Officer on 16 July 2007 on the grounds that: 1. The granting of the visa may result in a cost to public resources; 2. Finances shown were deemed to be insufficient.

An appeal was received on 13 August, 2007 and the original decision was upheld by the Appeals Officer on 17 August, 2007. It is open to the applicant to make a fresh visa application at any stage. Comprehensive information regarding the visa application process is available on the website of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service at www.inis.gov.ie.
