Question 389: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of civil servants based in Dublin who have applied for decentralisation, who have been transferred to their decentralising post and are in position in the decentralised location outside of Dublin; and the locations and the number of civil servants transferred from a Dublin post who are at such locations. To the end of October, 252 civil servants have transferred to my Department's offices in Portlaoise from a total of 330 people who have been assigned under the decentralisation programme. In excess of another 100 Central Applications Facility (CAF) applications are currently being processed. It is not possible to establish a final number of applications as my Department has yet to exhaust all the various CAF processes (i.e. asking applicants with Portlaoise as a lesser preference whether they would now like to prioritise their application). Some 182 of the 252 who have moved were Dublin-based and 70 were from other locations.
