Question 316: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if FÁS is responsible for health and safety in relation to tourist attractions in a local authority area or if the local authority responsible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29584/07]

In relation to its Community Employment programme, FÁS provides funding to local community groups to provide employment for projects including the repair and maintenance of tourist attractions.
For those tourist sites where FÁS has provided such funding then FÁS, with the authority concerned for the day to day running of the site, would have a joint responsibility for health and safety matters.
