Question 40: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if he has received an application from a group (details supplied) for grant aid under the new scheme to support national organisations in the community and voluntary sector to assist in their work with people with disabilities; if he will grant the request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application from the group referred to by the Deputy has been received under the new Funding Scheme to Support National Organisations in the Community and Voluntary Sector. Assessment of the large number of applications received under this Scheme is currently underway, with a view to having new funding arrangements in place before the cessation of the current funding at the end of November this year. The group has been notified of this position. All applicants will be contacted again once the assessment process is finalised.
