As the Deputy is aware, the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs was established on the 6th June 2002. Details of the number of appointments to State Boards for which my Department has responsibility since that date are outlined in the table below. The table provides details of the appointments per year and per gender, and include a number of re-appointments to new Boards.

It is anticipated that a number of vacancies will arise, within the following two State Bodies which are under the aegis of my Department, during June 2007. With respect to Pobal, four Directors will retire, by rotation, at the Company's AGM in June 2007, and Government has decided to re-appoint these Directors for a further term. With respect to the Dormant Accounts Board, four vacancies will arise in June 2007.
