Question 1832: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the reason the sewerage treatment plans at Kilkerrin, Dunmore and Leenane in County Galway have not yet commenced; if his Department has still not returned the file to Galway County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. These schemes are approved for funding in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2005-2007 under the Rural Towns and Villages Initiative. I approved Galway County Council's Tender Documents for the treatment plants last year and my Department has also responded to certain technical issues the Council subsequently submitted for consideration. Further progress on the scheme is a matter for the Council.
