Question 22: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs his views on the recently published draft regulations under the Official Languages Act 2003 on the use of the Irish language by public bodies on stationery and signage; the intention behind these regulations; if he has received feedback to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I have already indicated on the record of the House, these regulations have been published and laid before each House of the Oireachtas in draft form. This is in order to give Deputies and Senators the opportunity to debate the draft regulations and to make suggestions for amendments, if they so wish, before I sign them.
I look forward to debating the draft regulations in the Dáil and Seanad in the near future and to hearing suggestions and comments from Deputies and Senators.
