Question 626: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government when tenants of local authority flats complexes will be able to purchase their dwellings from the relevant local authority; and if he will ensure local authorities are legally bound to ensure that the moneys raised by the sale of such flats will be ring-fenced to replenish the local authority housing stock. I refer to the reply to Question No. 279 of 25 October 2006. The issue of the application by housing authorities of net receipts from apartment sales is being examined in the context of the proposed legislation.
