In conjunction with the Minister, Éamon Ó Cuív T.D., and Tim O'Malley T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children with special responsibility for mental health, I announced yesterday that the Government has approved the allocation of almost €1 million from the Dormant Accounts Fund to support twenty suicide prevention projects. The key objective of this funding is to provide interventions and supports to strengthen community based initiatives, particularly, although not exclusively, those targeting young men under 35 years of age.
In this regard, the project in question has been approved for a grant in the sum of €55,600. I do not have any plans at this point to meet with this project.
