Question 61: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if, arising from the recent launch of the new geological map of Ireland, it is intended to complete GPS associated mapping throughout the whole country with a view to enhancing navigational and communications technology with consequence to consumers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand from my colleague, the Minister for Finance that Ordnance Survey Ireland has completed national coverage of GPS compatible mapping for the state and has the capability to supply such data in either the widely used Irish Grid format or new developed Ordnance Survey GPS compatible format known as Irish Transverse Mercator (ITN). I have no function in this matter.
