I assume that the Question refers to Strategic Development Zones (SDZs). To date, three SDZs have been designated by Government under Section 166 of the Planning and Development Act 2000.

The Adamstown SDZ in South Dublin, with a site area of 210 hectares, was designated in 2001 and the Planning Scheme approved by An Bord Pleanála in 2003. The overall scheme involves a rolling ten-year programme to be completed by 2013. Phase 1 of the dwellings went on the market in February of this year.

The Clonmagedden SDZ in Meath, comprising a site area of 38 hectares, was designated in 2001 and the Planning Scheme was approved by An Bord Pleanála in 2004. Planning applications are expected shortly from the developers/landowners and the project is being overseen by a Steering Group within Meath County Council.

The Hansfield SDZ in Fingal, with a site area of 88 hectares, was designated in 2001 and the Planning Scheme was approved by An Bord Pleanála in January 2006. Further promotion of this scheme is now a matter for Fingal County Council and the landowners.
