Question 110: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the tax reliefs or incentives which are available to persons wishing to install environmentally friendly systems when building a new home; his plans to offer more incentives to people willing to invest in these systems; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The multi-annual financial package for renewables announced in budget 2006 includes a grant-aid package for the domestic sector, which will provide for individual grants to install renewable energy technologies including wood pellet boilers, solar panels and geothermal heat pumps.
My Department, in conjunction with Sustainable Energy Ireland, SEI, is developing the necessary detailed measures to roll out the new programme, which will be announced shortly.
