Committal of the funding for the piers on An Blascaod Mór and at Dún Chaoin will be contingent on the completion of the arrangements for the purchase of the island by the State. Subject to this, Kerry County Council is in the process of selecting a contractor through public procurement procedures to carry out the proposed development works to the piers in question. The Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate at this time to make cost estimates for those works public. However, as soon as a contractor has been selected, I will be glad to make the requisite information available to the Deputy.
