Question 489: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of child abuse cases in each of the past five years in respect of which a prohibition against prosecution was sought by the accused on the grounds of prejudicial defence due to a delay in prosecuting the offences; the number of such cases which were successful in the first instance; if the State appealed to the Supreme Court; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
