Question 830: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the proposals he has to make good the €8 million shortfall in the Údarás na Gaeltachta budget in 2005 and in the 2006 Estimates for expenditure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24593/05]

A total allocation of €34.33 million is being provided for Údarás na Gaeltachta by my Department for 2005. This represents an increase of 3.4% on the figure for 2004. Údarás na Gaeltachta also has other sources of income. I am satisfied that Údarás na Gaeltachta has sufficient funds to carry out its development programme.
The 2006 Estimates for my Department's Vote have not yet been finalised.
