Question 464: To ask the Minister for Transport if his attention has been drawn to unsolicited faxes from a company (details supplied) which encourage drivers to break speed limits and avoid penalty points; if he has sought legal advice on this matter; and the action he intends to take against this company or to otherwise stop this practice. The enforcement of speed limits and the administration of the fixed charge system is a matter for the Garda Síochána. The material supplied by the Deputy, on which I have not sought legal advice, refers to the fines and penalty points systems that operate in the United Kingdom.
