Question 120: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the number of patient discharges from acute hospitals to nursing homes from the beginning of April 2005; the location and name of each nursing home; the number of patients discharged to each home; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Health Act 2004 provided for the establishment of the Health Service Executive on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, the executive has the responsibility to manage and deliver, or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services. Accordingly, my Department has requested the chief officer of the Health Service Executive to reply to the Deputy in relation to the information requested.
