Question 298: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if there are arrangements in place to allow an Irish citizen who is serving in the London Metropolitan Police, who has leaving certificate Irish, and who previously applied to the Garda Síochána to transfer now to the force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Entry to the Garda Síochána is governed by the Garda Síochána (Admissions and Appointments) Regulations 1988, as amended. There are currently no arrangements in place to allow transfers to the Garda Síochána from the London Metropolitan Police.
