The fatal injury provisions of the Civil Liability Act 1961 referred to by the Deputy were most recently amended by the Civil Liability (Amendment) Act 1996. I have no plans to amend the provisions any further. The question of amending by order the amount of compensation available in such cases is being kept under review in my Department.
