Question 387: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if assistance will be given in regard to the issues raised with her by persons in correspondence (details supplied); the reasons these persons were refused treatment; if arrangements can be made to facilitate the correction of inaccuracies in their medical record without requiring them to go through the freedom of information process; if her Department can assist in resolving the issues involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no record of having received correspondence from the persons referred to by the Deputy.
The clinic in question is privately operated and I have no direct function in the matter. However, my Department has asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matters raised and to reply to the Deputy directly.
