Question 461: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his plans to increase the heritage grants available to local authorities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9590/04]

I assume that the question refers to the architectural protection grants scheme which provides grants to owners of protected structures and which is administered by the local authorities. Funding for this scheme has been increased from €2.88 million in 2003 to €3.9 million this year; all local authorities were notified of their increased allocations on 5 March 2004.
