I have received notice from Senator Paul Gavan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment to provide an update on the establishment of a hardship fund for eel fishermen.

I have also received notice from Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment to resist the EU Commission's proposals for revising the provisions of the renewable energy directive in respect of biofuels.

I have also received notice from Senator Aidan Davitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government to outline if payments will be made to county councillors to meet the increased cost in car insurance following recent requests by local authorities to councillors that they change to private motor insurance policies that cover business usage.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to provide an update on the application for a school extension by Scoil Cholmcille, Blarney Street, Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Fintan Warfield of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the commencement of Parts 2 and 3 of the Children and Family Relationships Act 2015.

I have also received notice from Senator Rose Conway-Walsh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment to make a statement on the need for a fit for purpose sewerage scheme in Newport, County Mayo, to prevent sewage floating into the bay.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected the matters raised by Senators Gavan, Murnane-O’Connor, Davitt and Burke and they will be taken now. I regret I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Conway-Walsh on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in this matter. Senator Warfield may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
