I have received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to introduce legislation to govern the long-term detention of people in psychiatric institutions given the recent decision by the Court of Appeal regarding the unconstitutionality of section 15(3) of the Mental Health Act 2001.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection to undertake a review of the community employment scheme to allow people who have reached 66 years of age to continue to work under the scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance and Minister Public Expenditure and Reform to provide an update on the proposed legislation to allow public service staff to work until the age of 70.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and they will be taken now.
