I have received notice from Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to consider a swimming pool for the town of Balbriggan, County Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator James Reilly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to clarify and outline his plans to address the effects of the reported outcome of a case in the EU whereby the locals-only rule and the ten year rule for rural housing will no longer apply in county development plans and the effect this will have on regulations issued from his Department and-or rural housing policies in various county development plans, particularly Fingal, as there is concern and uncertainty on the status of rural zonings in Fingal, County Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of Health to consider reducing prescription charges for people with disabilities.

I have also received notice from Senator Maura Hopkins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to provide an update on the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue project; and to confirm whether the necessary capital funding has been allocated to the project.

I have also received notice from Senator Gerard P. Craughwell of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to outline what projects will be funded from the €3.6 billion earmarked for public transport in the Exchequer capital transport envelope 2016-2021; and how much of this will be used to enhance public transport outside Dublin and specifically in Cork City and County.

I have also received notice form Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to advise on his Department’s proposals to transfer the governance of Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company to Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council; if he will he confirm the make-up of the current board and when their warrants of appointment expire in each case; and when he intends seeking expressions of interest from the public to fill the current vacancies on the harbour company board.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Clifford-Lee, James Reilly and Maria Byrne and they will be taken now. Senators Hopkins and Craughwell had been selected but they have subsequently withdrawn their matters owing to the unavailability of the Minister to attend the House today.

Senator Boyhan may give notice on another day of the matter that he wishes to raise.
