I have received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to consider prioritising the re-introduction of the local improvement scheme in 2017.

I have also received notice from Senator Paudie Coffey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to explain why more than 90 University Hospital Waterford patients, who have been on a waiting list for more than a year, must undergo cardiac diagnostic procedures elsewhere in the country and to outline his proposals to ensure unacceptably long waiting lists do not occur again and that the cardiology services at University Hospital Waterford are sustainable into the future.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to set out the position regarding the reopening of the Garda station in Maynooth, County Kildare.

I have also received notice from Senator Maura Hopkins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for regional economic development to provide an update on plans to introduce a grant scheme for underwater search and recovery in accordance with the commitment in the programme for partnership Government.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to outline what funding his Department has given to Rural Resettlement Ireland over the past five years and what are his plans to support this organisation into the future.

I have also received notice from Senator Máire Devine of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Climate Change and Natural Resources to explain if he is aware of the deep community concern in Rialto, Dublin 8, following the closure of the local post office service and to outline what plans he has to deal with the situation.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Domhnaill, Coffey, Boyhan, Hopkins and Conway as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Ó Domhnaill, Coffey and Boyhan and they will be taken now. Senator Hopkins has had to withdraw her matter. Senator Conway may give notice on another day of the matter that he wishes to raise. I regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Devine on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in this matter.
