I have received notice from Senator David Norris that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to put in place arrangements to ensure that no conflict of interest arises in respect of members of the independent panel appointed to examine a number of cases involving allegations of misconduct by members of An Garda Síochána, including the case of the killing of an individual (details supplied).
I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health to appoint a representative of private nursing homes to the emergency task force established to deal with the delays in accident and emergency departments.
I have also received notice from Senator Thomas Byrne of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health, the Health Service Executive and other statutory agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency and Irish Water, to investigate a cluster of cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome in east County Meath.
I have also received notice from Senator Denis O’Donovan of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health to address the concern about the reduction in paediatric outpatient clinics in Bantry hospital.
I have also received notice from Senator Kathryn Reilly of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Finance to discuss the flexibility arrangements that will be put in place by the Revenue Commissioners for the application of section 82 of the Finance Bill.
I have also received notice from Senator Fidelma Healy Eames of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to state whether she would see value in leading out a new cross-departmental scheme for the provision of gymnasiums for existing second-level schools in conjunction with the Department of Health, the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Norris, Burke, Byrne and O’Donovan, and they will be taken now.
