I have received notice from Senator John Whelan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The plans the Minister for Justice and Equality has to relocate the Portlaoise courthouse to a new and more appropriate premises and location as its present position on Main Street is no longer appropriate or fit for purpose and is completely disruptive on the main thoroughfare of the county town.

I have also received notice from Senator Jillian van Turnhout of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to ensure that the revised EU Data Protection Directive-Regulation does not impair the right of the citizen to engage in bona fide genealogical, biographical or historical research and that the principle of public ownership and right of access to our genealogical heritage will be enshrined as a guiding principle.
I have also received notice from Senator Paschal Mooney of the following matter:
The strategy, if any, the Government has to prevent the spread of Japanese Knot Weed along Irish roadways and if he will provide a policy which will oblige local authorities to address this matter.
I have also received notice from Senator Denis Landy of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Finance to carry out a full review across all rates of value-added tax in order to examine the scope of implementing a fairer system than that currently in place, particularly in view of the fact that the reduced rate on tourism is proving successful but is due to be reviewed in the medium term.
I have also received notice from Senator Averil Power of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to amend the current regulations for third level fees in order that someone who acquires Irish citizenship during his or her period of study can have his or her fee status changed from that point forward.
I have also received notice from Senator Denis O'Donovan of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to make a statement on the withdrawal of the bus service serving Ballinspittle, Garretstown and the Old Head of Kinsale in County Cork.
I have also received notice from Senator Mary Moran of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to address the concerns of the residents in an estate in Dundalk (details supplied), the ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour and why requests to have a wall heightened to deter such behaviour were denied by Louth County Council despite a recent plebiscite.
I regard the matters raised by Senators Whelan, van Turnhout, Mooney and Landy as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.

I regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator O'Donovan as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. I also regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Moran as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senator Power may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
