I have notice from Senator John Crown regarding a motion he wishes to raise under Standing Order 30. I call the Senator to give notice of the motion before I give my ruling.

I request an urgent statement from the Minister for Health to clarify the position regarding the availability of beds in the cystic fibrosis unit in St. Vincent's Hospital in view of the fact that despite the new unit being open, cystic fibrosis patients are still being admitted to unsuitable, non-isolated rooms and wards.

I have given careful consideration to the matter raised by the Senator, which I do not consider to be contemplated by Standing Order 30. I regret, therefore, that I have to rule it out of order.

I accept the ruling. It is my intention to raise this on the Order of Business and request a debate because of the extremely disappointing fact-----

We cannot debate it at this stage.
