I have received notice from Senator Jim Walsh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to make a statement urging the French Government to accept the ruling of a French court to extradite Claude Muhayimana to Rwanda under an international arrest warrant to face charges for taking part in genocide and crimes against humanity.

I have also received notice from Senator Ned O'Sullivan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to review the Garda superintendent scheme in order to provide justice and fairness to a number of former members, 81 in total, who have been deprived of their preserved retirement benefits due to the fact that they left or were dismissed from service prior to 1 October 1976.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to provide additional resources to An Garda Síochána to develop and fully resource the drugs unit within County Donegal, given the societal challenges of drug abuse and drug pushing in the county.

I have also received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartiagh of the following matter:

An gá atá leis an Aire Dlí agus Cirt agus Comhionannais a thabhairt sonraí maidir le líon na nGardaí atá ag feidhmiú sna stáisiún sna ceantair Ghaeltachta i nGaillimh, Muigh Eo, Dún na nGall, an Mhí, Corcaigh, Ciarraí agus Port Láirge i gcomparáid le cúig agus deich mbliain ó shoin agus an líon acu atá ábalta a gcuid oibre a dhéanamh tré mheán na Gaeilge.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
