I have notice from Senator Thomas Byrne that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to change his policy regarding ministerial school visits and that he visit schools around the country, which should be an essential part of his duties.

I have notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to reverse the changes he has made to the career guidance counselling services in schools, particularly in small rural schools with fewer than 500 pupils.

I have notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government to clarify the position regarding MFG Teoranta, and when a new Leader funding administrator will be appointed for Gaeltacht areas.

I have notice from Senator Mark Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the viability of paying rent allowance directly to landlords instead of to tenants.

I have notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to outline the amending legislation he proposes to put in place to deal with the issue of properties that are not registered with the Private Residential Tenancies Board.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Byrne, Conway, Ó Domhnaill and Daly and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Burke may give notice on another day of the matters he wishes to raise.
