I wish to clarify a point I made in the course of my Second Stage speech. I understand it may be the intention of the Minister when the Bill goes to the Dáil to bring in an amendment of an enabling character to deal with the issue of parliamentary allowances where agreement would be reached between the Minister and the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission. Should that be the case, the Bill will have to come back to this House next week. I am clarifying this point for the sake of completeness and transparency. I take this opportunity to thank Members for their assistance in carrying the Bill thus far. As I said, it may come back to them next week.
