I have notice from Senator Mary White that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to reverse the decision to delay construction of the new ward block at St. Vincent's Hospital and to fulfil the promise of having the cystic fibrosis unit operational in St. Vincent's Hospital by 2010.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social and Family Affairs to implement the non-financial aspects of the national carers strategy.

I have also received notice from Senator Denis O'Donovan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide the up to date position in relation to the construction of a new school for Summercove national school, Kinsale, County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to contact her counterparts in the North and the Scottish Parliament to exchange ideas on how to curb the abuse of alcohol and its associated health and economic costs.

I have also received notice from Senator Nicky McFadden of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to ensure that the dermatology services at Mullingar hospital remain for the people of Longford-Westmeath.

I have also received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to exempt fishermen who do not target cod, or who have caught less than 1.5% from the days at sea scheme, and to ensure that the polyvalent entitlement of these fishermen are safeguarded.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators White, Buttimer and O'Donovan and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Keaveney, McFadden and Doherty may given notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
