I have received notice from Senator Brendan Ryan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he wishes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the nature and extent of her communication with SR Technics' management prior to the announcement of the 1,135 job losses at that company on Thursday last and the efforts she intends to make during the 30 day consultation period to encourage SR Technics' management to engage with the workforce and their representatives to address any cost issues that may exist and to jointly come up with cost savings which could result in the saving of the jobs at Dublin Airport.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to amend the Development Control Advice and Guidelines (1982) and the Policy and Planning Framework for Roads (1985) in order to differentiate between national primary and national secondary routes for planning purposes.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to clarify the reason for the cut in special needs classes in over 130 primary schools, thereby reducing resources in special needs education in more than 130 primary schools.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to give an update on how well the towns of Buncrana, Moville, Greencastle, Clonmany and Ballyliffen fulfil European standards regarding waste water and the processes that are in place between the local authorities and his Department to ensure such regulation compliance.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ryan, Ó Domhnaill and Buttimer as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Keaveney may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
