I have received notice from Senator Maurice Cummins that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to intervene in the HSE's decision to close St. Brigid's ward at St. Patrick's Hospital, Waterford; when it is proposed to build the new 50 bed unit for long-stay elderly patients at this location; and if she will request the HSE to defer the closure of St. Brigid's until the new unit is in place.

I have also received notice from Senator Rónán Mullen of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to introduce legislation regarding the governing of exhibitions.

I have also received notice from Senator Joe O'Reilly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to consider the need for repairs and refurbishment at Kildallon national school, Ballyconnell, County Cavan.

I have also received notice from Senator David Norris of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to meet a representative of the eel fishing industry to address the fact that as a result of the Government's decision to close commercial eel fishing in Ireland we are in a position in which the Government's proposal exceeds the targets set by the European directive.

I have also received notice from Senator Paschal Donohoe of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to provide an update on the provision of a CCTV scheme in the Sheriff Street area of Dublin 1; and if funding will be provided for this scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to outline when Project Kelvin, with a tender specification for Derry city, moved to Coleraine, County Derry, contradicting all previous Irish Government ministerial comment since 2007.

I have also received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the progress made to date on the establishment of a satellite radio therapy centre for the north west.

I have also received notice from Senator Eugene Regan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline his proposals for the rebuilding of Newpark comprehensive school, Blackrock, County Dublin, including the timescale for planning, final design and commencement of works.

I have also received notice from Senator Frances Fitzgerald of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline his response to requests for school extensions in a number of schools in the Lucan area, including St. Thomas's national school, Scoil Mhuire national school and Lucan community college.

I have also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to ensure that any well drilling in the Ashford area of Wicklow does not reduce the flow of water in the River Vartry to such an extent that it threatens the sustainability of Mount Usher gardens.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cummins, Mullen and O'Reilly as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret I have to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Ross as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senators Norris, Donohoe, Keaveney, Doherty, Regan and Fitzgerald may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
