I have received notice from Senator Bannon that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to clarify the position regarding the commencement of Rathowen sewerage scheme, the provision of which is urgently required in the interests of environmental, health, residential and commercial interests and tourism in the area.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to instruct the National Hospitals Office of the Health Service Executive to approve the spending of €2.2 million for the renovation and extension of the accident and emergency unit at Nenagh General Hospital which was announced by the Taoiseach during a recent visit to Roscrea.

I have also received notice from Senator Norris of the following matter:

In light of the fact the Environmental Protection Agency intends to spend in excess of €3,500 of taxpayers' money on media and PR consultants to prepare it for a meeting with the Aghancon Concerned Residents Association in regard to the decision by An Bord Pleanála to allow retention by persons (details supplied) of an illegal development at Leap Castle, Roscrea, County Tipperary, the need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to provide an equal sum of money to the residents group to allow it to have similar professional assistance.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Bannon and O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret I have to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Norris as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
