I have received notice from Senator Bannon that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the sudden closure on Wednesday, 25 June 2003 of the Glanbia meat processing plant in Rooskey; if the company had been paid Government grants; and what interventions, if any, were made by the Minister to keep the plant open.

I have also received notice from Senator Tuffy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to give an update on the urgent need to provide extra school places, in particular at primary level, in Lucan, County Dublin for September 2003 and future academic years, and also the need for additional second level provision in the area.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
