I have received notice from Senator Henry that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to report on the progress being made regarding the DAFRD scrapie genotyping project.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to indicate his future plans for the retention and development of maternity services at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

I have also received notice from Senator Leyden of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the current situation regarding the development and refurbishment of St. Colman's Ward, Roscommon County Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Mansergh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to take measures to address the spate of theft and vandalism of churches of different denominations in different parts of the country.

I have also received notice from Senator McHugh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline when the Youth Work Act 2001 will be fully implemented.

I have also received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food his Department's plans for the future of soft fruit research in view of the closure of the only existing research facility at Clonroche, County Wexford.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Henry, Ulick Burke, Leyden, Mansergh and McHugh as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Henry, Ulick Burke and Leyden and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator John Paul Phelan as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senators Mansergh and McHugh may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
