I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Brendan Smith - the need to have general practitioner, GP, services restored at the Ballinagh health centre, Ballinagh, County Cavan; (2) Deputy Gerry Adams - the need to appoint an additional level 2 methadone prescribing GP to Drogheda and to resource the appointment of an additional family support worker for the Louth community drug and alcohol team; (3) Deputy James Bannon - the need to provide adequate resources for St. Brigid's school, Mullingar, County Westmeath; (4) Deputy Dominic Hannigan - the need to clarify the position in relation to the General Medical Services, GMS, contract and the provision of free blood tests for medical card patients and GP visit card holders; (5) Deputy Michelle Mulherin - the location of a new headquarters for the proposed merged vocational education committees of counties Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim; (6) Deputy Simon Harris - the need to introduce measures to support retailers in combatting fraudulent online purchases; (7) Deputy Martin Ferris - the loss of a special needs assistant at Presentation primary school, Listowel; (8) Deputy Michael McCarthy - the need to award members of An Garda Síochána and emergency personnel special status and protection in view of the rising number of assaults on Garda and emergency workers on duty; (9) Deputy Seán Kyne - the need to review the decision to end the automatic entitlement to the non-adjacent grant for mature students due to the financial hardship this will cause and which may result in students discontinuing their education with all the ramifications this would have, and the need, at the very least, to allow those mature students already in educational courses to retain the entitlement to the non-adjacent grant for the duration of their courses; (10) Deputy David Stanton - to ask the Minister for Health to debate the urgent need for staff to be recruited to enable the PET-CT scanner purchased in 2009 by Cork University Hospital to become operational and will he make a statement on the matter; and (11) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the benefits to the health service presented by organisations such as Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and the need to follow this model further.

The matters raised by Deputies Michelle Mulherin, Michael McCarthy, Brendan Smith and Gerry Adams have been selected for discussion.
