European Union Directive: Referral to Joint Committee

I move:

That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime,

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 13th June, 2011, be referred to the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality, in accordance with Standing Order 82A(3), which, not later than 19th July, 2011, shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 87, and Standing Order 86(2) shall accordingly apply.
