European Union Council Decisions: Motions

I move:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council Decision on the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway on the application of certain provisions of the Convention of 29 May 2000 on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Member States of the European Union and the 2001 Protocol thereto,

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 13th January, 2010."

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 20th January, 2010."

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option of discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for the Council Decision on the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland and Norway on the application of certain provisions of Council Decisions 2008/615/JHA on the stepping up of cross-border cooperation, particularly in combating terrorism and cross-border crime and Council Decision 2008/616/

JHA on the implementation of Decision 2008/615/JHA on the stepping up of cross-border cooperation, particularly in combatting terrorism and cross-border crime, and the Annex thereto,

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 21st January, 2010."
