I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Frank Feighan and Jimmy Deenihan - the delay in the payment of disadvantaged area payments; (2) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the delay in the regeneration scheme for Ballylynch Estate, Carrick on Suir, County Tipperary; (3) Deputy Joe Costello - the need for funding for the north inner city drugs task force, Dublin; (4) Deputy Joe McHugh - the need for an update on the investigation into the accident that resulted in the drowning of two fishermen from Glengad off Inishowen Head in the spring of 2007; (5) Deputy Joan Burton - the recent acknowledgement by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform that women and young girls were routinely committed by order of the courts and other mechanisms to institutions and homes run by religious orders, known as Magdalene laundries; and the need for the Minister to make a statement and outline the position in respect of files and records held by Departments, whether these files will be released, and what the Minister proposes to do in respect of this matter and in view of the proposals made by the Justice for Magdalenes group; (6) Deputy James Bannon - the provision of services at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath; (7) Deputy Noel Ahern - the reduction in funding in 2010 for projects run through local drugs task forces, particularly the Ballymun and Finglas project in Dublin; (8) Deputy Tom Sheahan - the provision of community beds and psychiatric services in County Kerry; and (9) Deputy Alan Shatter - the need for a redress scheme for residents of the Magdalene laundries.

The matters raised by Deputies Tom Sheahan, Mattie McGrath, Frank Feighan and Jimmy Deenihan, and Noel Ahern have been selected for discussion.
