I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the urgent need for the Minister for Education and Science to reverse his decision to reduce the number of special needs teachers from September 2009 in view of the detrimental effect on the pupils concerned and the fact that it will reverse progress made in this area. This decision must be reversed in the forthcoming emergency budget.
