I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss a matter of urgent importance, namely, that in light of the current staffing crisis within the western region ambulance service, due to the lack of funding for staff cover in the event of annual leave, sick leave or training which is leading to a dangerously low and life-threatening level of service in County Roscommon and surrounding counties, there is an immediate need for the Minister for Health and Children to directly intervene to ensure that lives are not lost just to balance the books.

I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of extreme national importance, namely, the risk to the economy posed by the Government's mismanagement of public finances, which has led to a deficit of €7.9 billion so far this year, in stark contrast to the €1.5 billion surplus this time last year.
